Eatin' + Photoboothin' = The OC Fair

A beautiful summer night out in the OC.

Oh hello there fatty... you wanna totally fry your finger? Well that would be delicious as well!

Ah! Caught!

Sonny is in heaven.

One funnel cake. Five forks.

Let's not win so I don't have to lug this thing around.

Rey & Kat making faces.

Rey using the booth as a restroom again.

Good results.

You don't even look good when you sing!

Eph reigns supreme.

Son all tuckered out.

We hit up the OC fair tonight and I just had so much fun I had to post these pictures as soon as I got home. I hope you all had a fabulous week and an even more fabulous weekend. I kinda have been a bad blogger lately. I haven't had the time to post daily but I figured most of my readers are off on wild summer adventures to noticed my lack of postin'.

I'll be back with more... PROMISE!

I haven't been to the fair in a few years and I felt like I have been missing out. I think its a good thing, to be missing out, because as we drove into the parking lot I felt an excitement I haven't felt in a long while. The bright colored lights and the smell of fried goodies hit us hard the second we opened the car door. I couldn't even decide what to do first. Food? Maybe a quick walk through the home shopping arena? A quick ride down the slide?

As you can see we ended up doing it all. Hopefully we'll hit up the OC Fair before it ends. But if we miss out on a second run we'll just hit up the LA Fair!! The summer is flying by... I just gotta soak it all in!

Heavenly Weekend: July Birthdays + Puppy Love

Britney was so kind enough to be my model for the day.... but then she got tired.

Beautiful Sunset

Happy Birthday Aldrich!

The newest member of the pack.

Spent the morning @ Dog Beach.

It was Sonny Bear's very first time on the beach. Not sure what to think.

Getting his tan on!

Soaking it all in! Till next Sunday.

What a weekend! I am sure you all know by now what I've been up to these past weekends. Sonny and I had this realization that this has probably been the best summer we've had together, filled with lots of stay-cations! With lots of things to do and the Californian sun you really can't go wrong.

Also you may have noticed my photography style has changed a tad. I've been telling myself to suck it up and just lug the humongous digital SLR around. I bought a really awesome vintage seat belt camera strap at the Renegade Craft Fair that is much longer and allows me to strap it across my body which makes for a more comfortable tote-along. Sonny has been giving me photography pointers to "catch the light" so hopefully as time goes on, I will master my camera and showcase some masterpieces! Til then you'll just have to settle with my lovely shots of my pups!

So back to my weekend. Played with my camera, hit up a pool party, celebrated a birthday, and played on the beach. Sonny and I just finished watching Harry Potter.... and all I can say is... DANG! I am now going to spend the rest of my weekend reading these books. I've never read one and never had the urge to read them til now. It was that good!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends... because here comes MONDAY! *ugh*

Fifi Lapin On Vacay

{images via Fifi Lapin}

My favorite fashionista Fifi Lapin and her beau, Sonny, are off on vacation... but she has sent some of her photos to share! I love that she is off seeing the world and still has time to look so fashionable!

I love that her beau is Sonny and he is a bunny.... Kinda like my own funny Sonny hunny bunny! I hope you all didn't just throw up. :)

We haven't really planning any summer vacations due to work and us not really having many paid vacation days to enjoy. But to enjoy the rest of the summer I have planned fun filled weekends until October which I am extremely excited about. Talk about "working for the weekend".

Rings All Year

{images from Tithi home}

Wonderful idea from the collaboration from Tithe Kutchamuch and Nutre Arayavanish! Kit comes with 12 bands of paper to make itself each month. The rings represent a flower for each month of the year! Brilliant!

Flock Shop LA

In love with craft shows like Unique LA and Renegade like me? Well you don't even have to wait for craft season when you can just hit up Flock Shop LA in Chinatown. This hidden gem is full of surprises! My faves are the handmade wallets, handcarved earrings, vintage purses and fedoras, crafted cards, and silkscreened ties.

This independent artist supporting shop really adds some urban flare to Chinatown. The owners are really down to earth folks who loves their artist community and can't wait to meet everyone who walks right in. Check em' out! I promise you'll fall in love.

I Love Bando

{images via ban.do}

When I was planning my wedding look I was totally obsessed with ban.do and all their hair wear. Probably the most creative hair wear out there. My sister and I even created our own versions of the ban.do look but never really got it just right. Everything is so fun and summery. Any of these would look pretty with a long flowy maxi dress and gold bangles. Oh what? I have those already... looks like my outfit is almost complete then... just need my ban.do.

Heavenly Weekend: Out + About

Sonny Bear requested to get more face time on this blog... so here you go little guy... your time to shine!

My poor closet threw up.

Anne Shirely. Anne spelled with an E.

Spent my entire allowance.

Weekends by the sea.

Local Farmers Market.

More fresh fruits and veggies.

Fresh.

Stare down. She always wins.

Pure delight.

This weekend went by in a blur. Even though I had my Friday off it seems that it just wasn't long enough. Story of my life.

Lots of cleaning on Friday just to get the weekend started with no fussing around. I feel like a domesticated goddess getting everything and every dog in the house cleaned. To the windows... to the walls! I ended the night by crafting new necklaces while catching up on True Blood. To me this show is like Twilight except with more adult content. The cheesey mc cheese factor is still in it... but I love it.

Saturday was a ladies day out with my Sister and Mom as we made our way out to LA to check out the Renegade Craft Fair. We had a blast - I'll be posting more about my finds and buys later. Lots of great vendors and designers!

Sunday I woke up early to go with Sonny to his Dragon Boat practice. I made plans to go to the Farmers Market with Janet while our husbands paddled their way around the island. I love Farmers Markets... Everything is so fresh and yummy! Next time I am gonna go with a cooler so I can get fresh fish and more fruits and veggies.

See my weekend was pretty chill... Nothing tooo crazy.... I hope you all had wonderful weekends as well.

I Got Tagged!

I haven't been tagged in awhile so I was happy when I got a little message from Trishiekoh over at Under Lock & Key that I was tagged! She is one of my daily reads and I love her for making my day brighter with her amazingly beautiful posts.

Rules: Tag and link back to the person who tagged you. List six little things that make you happy. Tag six bloggers and let them know they're “it".

Ok, here's my happy list:

1. Spending long weekends with my best friends.

2. Listening to my iPod on shuffle. Every song is a beautiful surprise.

3. Taking pictures on the freeway. The moments to take the pictures come and go so fast... so when I get the shot I wanted to get, it is even that more satisfying.

4. Bargain shopping. I love spending full days hitting up all my hit list stores just to find an awesome buy.

5. Surprise gifts from Sonny. Somedays I'll come home to a huge bag of Stila loot or some random things that he'll pick up from here and there and just say "they reminded me of you..."

6. Looking at old pictures from High School... or even older. Some of them make me cringe but seeing the look on my face and on my friends and family... I don't think we care too much about what we looked like because we were having that much fun!

My list of lovelies...
  1. Connie @ This Old Dress

  2. Morgan @ Mrs. Priss

  3. Genessee @ Once Upon A Day

  4. Anne K @ Anne K in LA

  5. Rachel @ Heart Of Light

  6. Tina @ Luphia Loves

Heavenly Weekend: Celebrating America

I haven't flown a kite since my kite contest winning days.

Who needs flip flops when you are chillin' all day on a blaket on the grass.

Our Amazon buy dome beach shelter. Probably the best thing $6o can getcha.

Watching Sonny do his boatin' thang.

The afternoon light in Norwalk.

Sonny's cheap light saber.

Casting a spell on you.

Rays of light.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th! As you can see I had a little fun in the sun and A LOT of fun playing with fireworks. We usually don't do much and like to just sprawl ourselves around the TV watching mindless marathons. This year was probably one of the best 4th we've celebrated in years... complete with a crowded beach, semi fresh LB air and night lights!
