Heavenly Weekend: A Wedding + A Free Day

Wow! What a wonderful 3 day weekend! I do hope you all had fun things to do. It has been awhile since I have included some sort of wedding entry and I am kinda proud to share with you all that I attending a fantastic wedding on Saturday. A great friend of mine I went to High School with married the love of her life on the most beautiful day in May. Coincidentally my sister Nicole also attended a wedding for her best friend, Tammy, on the same day. Since I am Nicole's personal hair and makeup person, I got to use all my new Stila product on her! Super exciting stuff! The best thing I love about using Stila is that it never looks caked on or fake. It's always soft and natural.

The Wedding Reception was a blast! We all had so much fun drinking wine all night, dancing, and reminiscing back to our High School days. Sarah also used Tracey from The Flower Tray for her flowers so you can only image how beautiful the room looked. It was seriously a wonderful night with great friends.

On Sunday night, Nicole having her connections to the Wine and Food Festival at Disneyland, got us in to a Wine Reception. Which means we had more wine and more food for the weekend! We were running kind of late so by the time we got there we only had 45mins to hit up all the o'dourves and wine stations. Nicole and I drank 3 full glasses of wine and were feeling pretty nice and happy.... Too happy to go home to soon.

Today we celebrated Memorial Day with an early BBQ with the Fam Bam and hung around the house being lazy bums. Towards the afternoon we headed out to LB to watch the Laker game with some friends and to of course BBQ some more and eat! The game was too upsetting to watch. Argh! The Lakers better win the next one...COME ON LAKERS YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I hope you are all ready and rested for this short week!!! Here's to an AWESOME TUESDAY!

We met Elizabeth Soule at Unique L.A. and totally fell in love with her work. Her lovely Polaroids and other prints are breath taking. I picked up a set of her postcards for safe keeping until I can pick what print I'd like to own from her etsy shop. She is quite amazing and talented for sure.

Springtime Gardening

Finally found time this past weekend to plant some new flowers in our hanging baskets. How sad that for months the baskets hung with some scary dried out twigs. Now the baskets are overflowing with loveliness.

Dust and Co.

I Love Dust!! Not the kind that makes you sneeze... but the kind that makes you swoon. I picked up these two pieces at Unique LA a few weeks ago. Dust and Co specializes in handmade items from recycled materials. My favorite are the vintage label necklaces made from vintage decanter labels replicating 18th century hand lettered engravings. Why I choose to get the Bourbon one is kinda beyond me. I think its because I like the typesetting best. Sonny choose to get the 1920s vintage silver cuff links made from movements from antique Bulova watches.

Heavenly Weekend: A Simple Life

First off... Sorry for no Heavenly Weekend update last weekend. I came down with a sick bug and couldn't get myself out of bed to blog. Also last Sunday night Sonny bought me season 1 of Roswell and you know how it goes when your life energy literally gets drained from you with a little DVD box set. I don't care how disciplined you are, you can never just watch one episode. Its completely impossible.

The past two weekends have been filled with lots of things to see and do! Last weekend we spent some time with our "married" friends and had a special picnic to celebrate Mother's Day. The sun was blazing down on us that day and left many of us with the oddest looking tans. Mine looks like someone brushed brown paint on just my right arm. Can't wait for it to fade so I can look normal again.

We also went to watch Star Trek. I can't even put into words how amazing that movie was. When we got home Sonny and I caught some documentary of the Star Trek auction on the History Channel and I could not believe how much of a Trekie Sonny is. He knows a little bit too much... I am surprised he didn't start speaking like a Klingon. I guess you never can run out of things to learn about your Husband. I think he secretly has Spock ears hidden in valet tray. ;)

This weekend was very quiet. Sonny was off on some adventure up north so I had to come up with things to do all by myself. I tend not to like being away from him for too long. I know it kinda sounds cheesey... but I can't sleep unless I know he is beside me. I had to stage a fake Sonny by propping big pillows on his side of the bed and kept a movie playing in the background to lull me to sleep. I am so pathetic... as was my fake lumpy pillow Husband.

I did keep busy by of course getting my Spin Class on! Oh What?! And then I did some gardening and household, domesticated work to past the time. On Sunday I went with Rachel to check out the Patchworks Craft Fair in Santa Ana. There were some similar vendors there that were at Unique LA. I finally got to meet a fellow blogger and now friend Myra from Double Sided Tape. We both kinda like secretly stalk each other so it was nice to see her face to face. Totally a sweetheart!

I do hope you all had a glorious weekend because you all know what is coming tomorrow...

Monday! :)
